With Korea aging every day (the country has a low birth rate along with an increasing life expectancy) ; its becoming clear that demand for care-giving robots is going to be booming. Hundreds of scientists are putting in long hours of work designing just such a kind of 'smart robot.' Robots are increasingly making their presence felt in the world, recent robot shows have featured the bots capable of an astounding array of tasks.

The robots will have abilities ranging from measuring heart rate and blood pressure, and be able to send the data to a doctor. It will also summon help in an emergency when its owner falls to the floor and doesn't get up. It will also be capable of giving verbal reminders about appointments and medicines.

The smart robot would be able to accept delivery of food, lay out the table, and clear as well as clean the dishes later. Based on a voice operated command system, it will be easy for the elderly to control the smart robot.
