Ant Hills : The 2006 (Space Age Habitat) version

antworks.jpgThere are things that remind you that it certainly is the twenty-first century. Things such as the AntWorks - Space Age Ant Habitat. How could, one wonders, can anything be done to the good old ant hill experiment that all of us saw as kids in the school. We saw how hard working ants were, how they managed their colonies and there was more to them then just scurrying around mindlessly. But its 2006 and like all things old, the ant hill had to change or so decreed NASA. Based on a real space experiment...

Based on a real space experiment this space age 'aquarium' as some call it is truly astounding. The sealed box simply needs to be put on display with no interaction from the user whatsoever.

- AntWorks is based on a 2003 NASA Space Shuttle experiment to study animal life in space and test how ants successfully tunnel in microgravity.

- The AntWorks Gel (Non Toxic) is complete with nutrients to promote healthy growth in the new colony.

- Watch ants live, work and tunnel in the nutritious and non-toxic gel as they create series upon series of intricate tunnels.

- The included LED illuminator acts as your Antworks base and when plugged in will shine four bright blue LEDs up through your torquoise gel (120v).

- Easy to care for - Ants need NO food or water.

- Case is 6.5"x 5.5"x 1.25"

Of course they threw in everything EXCEPT the ants. duh! well, they do suggest leaving out some trash in the kitchen over night and kidnapping the poor critters then. The aquarium is available for USD 30$.
