Haute Couture leads to Haute Cuisine

space_station.jpgJust cuz you have one of the most dangerous and exciting jobs off the face of this planet does not mean that you should be unaware of the finer things in life. Take the case of the European Space agency, which certainly knows how to pamper its astronauts. France's leading chefs have been asked to whip up delicacies for the people in space. The Space agency however justifies its decision.

astronaut-evab.jpgA spokesman for the space agency explained that taste buds are dulled in space, making even standard fare less tasty than it would be on Earth. Quails, swordfish and duck are among the delicacies that were put together at the catering school in southwest France run by top chef Alain Ducasse. Ducasse, who has earned 14 Michelin stars, was asked to produce outstanding examples of French cuisine that could be canned and then reheated in the International Space Station's oven.
