Solar powered cap fan

solar_fan_hat.jpgBe it Indian summers or the ones in Texas ; fact is that we are just no longer capable of being exposed to the elements. While getting a bit of sun every now and then is fine, getting sun burnt or a heat stroke is no one's idea of fun. The Japan Organization for the Promotion of Renewable Energy has decided to use the very heat and light that makes us feel uncomfortable to power a fan which promises to keep us cool as long as we have to wait out in the heat.

'They’ve put a solar panel on top of a cap, then attached it to a fan that’s been stuck in a hole on the front. The sunnier it is, the more the fan will cool you down. At the low price of 2000 yen (£8.68/$16.93), the association expect it to be a big hit in Tokyo this summer.'
