The latest concept car from Toyota promises to bring in a sea-change to the way the world looks at hybrid technology. No more just a vehicle for the environmentally conscious the sporty FT-HS hybrid promises performance like 0-62mph in around 4 seconds. More importantly, Toyota promises to price the FT-HS in the mid-range. This shall make it a truly competing model with some serious performance. The engine will be a V6 with 3.5L to burn and of course the afore mentioned 400 bhp should make the tires squeal.
The exterior features include a speed-activated wing that elevates at high speed for additional stability and traction. The rear showcases a carbon fibre lower diffuser with integrated wide exhaust and carbon fibre wheels. Other features that deserve mention is touch-trace sensors which surround the driver and act as tactile guides for finger controls when travelling at high speeds and a telescoping hub-less steering wheel incorporates semi-automatic paddle shifters and allows the instruments to be shifted forward in order to shorten the driver’s focus-time between them and the road and ultimately enhance driver focus.
