Despite having a stronger case, Cisco has given into Apple and agreed to share the iPhone name. Obviously there is going to be a financial pay-off but details of this have not been released. In a joint statement, Cisco and Apple said both companies could use the word iPhone on their products worldwide. All lawsuits connected with dispute have been dismissed. Cisco and Apple have also decided under this agreement to work together in certain areas, which is obviously going to be beneficial for Cisco.

For the iPhone lovers though this is just one way of ensuring that their much anticipated handset will be there in June under the same name that they dreamed it to be.
