AT&T recieves and fields 1 million inquiries for the iPhone

Ever since the iPhone was confirmed by Apple with prospective shipping dates and prices ; people have been flocking to AT&T with inquiries. there have been rumors that Apple is looking for a single distribution partner to get the iPhone rolling in the States and word has it that this partner will be AT&T. Now mind you, its not 1 million people who have asked to buy the phone, its 1 million people who have asked to pre-order it.

Since AT&T does nothing of the sort (Apple hasnt made up its mind perhaps) ; it has opened up a new page on its website where users are requested to sign up. The company promises to alert them the instant they find out anything new about the availability of the iPhone once they register.

Apple expects to sell 10 millions pieces of this lil beauty once it goes on sale later this year.
