Moving onwards, we have more cars and more pretty women. Part II of the ongoing Fashionfunky exclusive coverage of the Melbourne Auto show 2007 going on in Australia.
There were of course the other prominent Audi's such as the TT, but being quite a popular brand here in Australia, I decided to make myself scarce and returned to the BMW show case which still had beauties such as the BMW Touring - the wagon version and the 323i Touring.

The BMW 750Li - 'An “active” suspension control system designed to reduce body-roll, or lean, while cornering. This improves the vehicle’s suspension geometry (the degree of wheel angle relative to vertical). The 4.8-liter V-8 engine produces 360 horsepower at 6300 rpm, and 360 lb-ft torque at 3400 rpm'

The BMW 650Li - same 4.8 liter engine (V8) goes on the 650 Li as on the 750 Li

Spotting the V8 Vantage from a strictly 'stay away, do not touch' distance exhibit, looked fabulous with its red leather interiors and would certainly have been mauled had Aston Martin not designed a railing and assigned security to keep the keen spectators away.

A quick snap of the specifications of this baby - the V8 Vantage - to repeat the most important parts, she has a heart of 32 valve, 4.3 litre V8 which is capable of giving 380 bhp @ 7000 rpm. This makes possible an acceleration of 0-100 kmph (0 - 62 mph) in 5.2 seconds.

Also seen are the Aston Martin DB9 coupe and the DB9 Volante

The Accord Euro Limited Edition was also put up on display, Hondas do get their customers, but Toyota enjoys the larger base even in Australia. The Euro Accord has been on the roads for a few months now. Features include - traction control, six-speaker, six-stack in-dash CD player with steering-wheel mounted controls, 16-inch alloys, ABS with brake assist, side seat-mounted airbags to supplement the front pair, fold-down rear seats, alarm, climate control air-conditioning, cruise control and tilt and reach adjustable steering wheel. The car is powered by a 140kW 2.4-litre iVTEC four-cylinder engine.

If you read the first part of our extensive coverage, then you may recall the two wheelers protesting outside, well besides the BMW K1200S, there was this bicycle which a certain young man was persistingly asking his father to buy. Unlike normal bicycles, this one coming from BMW carried a price tag of $1420. I got a not so decent snap of the bike, and a much better one of the justification for its price.

We finally reach the most interesting part, the alternative energies - or the environmentally friendly cars. Beginning with the Civic Hybrid, touted to be a 'breath of fresh air'

The Honda Civic Hybrid bares her secrets for all to see

An explanation for the not so savvy about the Hybrid from Honda.

The Honda Civic Type R, making its first appearance in Australia - the Civic Type R has an inline 4 cylinder DOHC i-VTEC engine. The 2 litre engine has a maximum power of 148 kw @ 7800 rpm and a maximum torque of 193 Nm @ 5600 rpm. This engine is mated with a manual transmission (6 speed). 18" alloy wheels are standards. One that Honda claims comes straight out from the race track.

One of the most popular ones - The Honda FCX concept - The dynamic fuel cell vehicle from Honda which is powered by Hydrogen. The Hydrogen is used to generate electricity which is capable of driving an electric motor with 95 kW of power and 256 Nm of torque allowing top speeds of upto 160 kmph. Acceleration from stand still promises Honda will change the way the world percieves hybrids or alternate energy vehicles. The braking system is also harnessed for storage of energy which is used to further help in moving from stand still.
