And there it was. Any tough real competition for the Apple iPhone which could have been provided only by Google (considering that the public views Apple and Google in the same league of 'cool companies') has been vanquished when Mr. Kimber (an authority figure - The managing director of sales and operations) in Asia, clearly said that making hardware would mean a dramatic shift in the company for which they were not yet prepared. Google wishes to concentrate on making the software and is in fact interested in closer tie-ups with existing manufacturers of cell phones to provide search and similar technologies (deals with Samsung have already been reported).
Mr. Kimber made these statements in Sydney while addressing a conference. However we would not loose heart so far, Reuters has reported that London-based phone analyst Richard Windsor wrote: "Google has come out of the closet at the CeBIT trade fair admitting that it is working on a mobile phone of its own". There have also been reports that Google apparently has a staff of one hundred working on the Google Phone.
These latest reports from Mr. Kimber however are seen as a major deterrent which may mean that either Google does not have any plans for the near future or wishes to keep it under extremely close wraps until they are prepared to disclose any details. There has to be something going on, since so many rumors of a Google phone simply cannot be unfounded.
P.S. > We dont know either what the girl in the picture has to do with this entry either.
