India is poised to get its first F1 racing circuit with the capital - New Delhi to be used as a 'street circuit'. The project is being supported by a host of private investors who are sure that the nation of 1 billion will fall in love with the Grand Prix. The Rajpath area which is known for its wide roads and streets free of hawkers and other menaces which otherwise plague Indian roads is to be used for the circuit. There have been several meetings of the designers and investors with the Chief Minister of Delhi for finalisation.
Plans are afoot which could see India have its own GP by 2009.
