And unless the Vudu has some voodoo tricks up its sleeve, Apple seems to be walking away with the trophies yet again. But before we declare the results , Gizmodo has come up with some posh exclusive according to which the service which is similar to Apple TV will launch with a big bang later this summer. thousands of movies will release alongside and the technology is such that it connects directly to the television and does not require a PC / cable box or anything of the sort. Going by the sort of folks who are behind the Vudu, this baby is gonna have the balls to go in head to head with the Apple TV.
'The chairman of the Vudu, Inc. board is Alain Rossman, the guy who made it possible for you to browse the Web on a mobile device (WAP). He got his start at Apple, then founded Phone.com (now Openwave Systems), EO Corporation, and C-Cube Microsystems among others. The founder of Vudu, Tony Miranz, comes from Tahoe Networks and AT&T Bell Labs. The COO and VP of Engineering both come from TiVo. Vudu is funded by Greylock Partners and Benchmark Capital.'
