Deciding that the gaming scenario is not something that can be missed out upon, HP has announced the Pavilion HDX. Of course after buying out Voodoo, a step like this was widely expected. The HDX will have some mouth watering features such as a 20 inch display, and a handle which is very much needed once you realise that the system tanks out at 12 pounds.
While detailed specs are yet awaited, there are speculations that the Pavilion HDX will make use of Intel's Santa Rosa-based Core 2 Duo processors, which are expected to top at 2.4GHz but may be offered with factory-unlocked Core 2 Extreme models at 2.6GHz or higher. Graphics will of course be paid the extra bit of attention that is very necessary in a gaming system. Sources think that this will probably be the NVIDIA GeForce Go 8000 series GPU. HD DVD with HDMI support are expected to be included. The Pavilion system should debut within a few months.
