iSave: The geeky way to save water

Posted by Funkyguy on May 11, 2007 10:25 AM

isave.jpgStaying on the driest continent on the planet (its Australia believe you me) ; which has been in the throes of drought since a few years, we are constantly bombarded with the need to save water. Our reservoirs are at record lows (less than 30% as of now) and its devices like the iSave which will help us fight the drought. Truly technology could not be better used but for such purposes.

The iSave concept aims to help you conserve water by being attached to your sink or faucet head, displaying the amount of water that particular faucet has used through a digital display. The device operates by being activated with the help of turbines which rotate when the water begins to flow. Thats all the power it needs, the display is also powered by the same turbines so you need not worry about increased power bills either.

These kind of water saving gadgets are going to become increasingly common in the near future. There have been several predictions in fact that the third world war shall be fought not for land but for potable water.
