It seems just like yesterday that the Zune actually came out and alreayd Microsoft is planning on a big announcement today. A flash based Zune is being planned for launch which is supposed to take on the iPod nano. The original Zune, or rather the one which was is out in shops now never reached the sales levels that would have made Microsoft happy. Far from challenging the supremacy of Apple in the MP3 player market, the Zune did not even dent it.

The new Zune is Microsoft's new and latest but certainly not the last attempt to gain a larger share of the pie in this highly competitive market.
