Breaking the 5 megapixel barrier in cell phones, comes the Casio Exilim W53CA. Considering that my digital camera has exactly that many megapixels, I am giving it a look of disdain. But the poor thing has been my constant companion on several travels and is faithful. This lead me to wonder whether I would give up my camera for a cell phone with the same or higher resolution camera. Surprisingly, the answer was - no.
And with good reason. A camera has more features , I know some phones can counter as many if not more but a larger display, buttons dedicated for shooting and zooming make it an overall preference. Most people who do use a camera phone will use it only casually. At any important function everyone prefers to get their digital cams. Maybe the Koreans dont, cause thats exactly where the Casio Exilim W53CA is being launched. Its a CDMA handset and has no plans of arriving elsewhere at the moment. Available colors will be red, black and silver.
