Linux on Dell in Europe

In a move that may upset Microsoft’s apple cart – Dell (the second largest computer makers) has announced its plan to ship first range personal computers to Europe – pre-installed with the Linux operating system (OS). Though Microsoft might not like it (obviously) it is an interesting and lucrative move and makes lots of business sense.

In recent years, Linux OS has been growing in popularity - but it has not been able to budge the sole OS super power -- Windows. Is this the beginning of the end of Microsoft reign in Europe? Highly possible – even if one of the computer is sold with Linux installed rather than Windows – it means less licence fee for Microsoft and also with growing Linux tribe – it could hurt Microsoft’s future fgrowth.
