When one comes, another follows; Systemax Manufacturing is all set to launch its Assault Ruggedized notebook. As the name suggests, it is also vying for attention in the rugged notebook ring. Like Kontron’s NotePAC Semi, even this has the magnesium alloy case, the anti-shock resistant design, a spill resistant keyboard, touch pad and buttons. The assault comes with Intel Core Duo T2350 processor running at 1.86Ghz, 512MB of DDR RAM memory, which can be upgraded up to 4B, and a hard-drive (SATA 5400 RPM) of 60GB.
Other features are an Intel Graphics Card, a GMA (Graphics Media Accelerator) 950 with DirectX 9 and Dynamic Video Memory Technologies 3.0, stereo speakers, a trio of USB 2.0 ports, and a 160GB SATA hard drive, Wi-Fi, and 4 in 1 memory card. You can run Microsoft Windows XP or Vista in this rugged assault.
This 14.1-inches, XGA type display screen, notebook will cost you approximately $1,000. I have not taken a liking to this assault, so would cover myself a iron-magnesium alloy to protect myself from this rugged assault.
