Asu's U3S with Integrated GPS Technology

Recently, Asus introduced -- “U3S”, claiming it be the “world's first mainstream notebook PC with integrated Global Positioning Sytem (GPS) capability.” It seems the mobile machine has got a perfect companion, and who benefits out of this coming together -- You -- the always on the move people. If you owe this Asus machine, you need not ask directions from others -- as GPS will aid you in finding the right way to your destination, while you are zigzagging the world.



This -- 13.3 widescreen -- laptop sports a gleaming piano painted midnight black (or pearl white) cloak, and it is based on Intel's Centrino Duo platform. It is powered by Core 2 Duo processors, and comes with 512MB of 667MHz DDR 2 memory and 100-160GB of SATA hard drive storage. U3S also features external USB optical drive, and has an eight-in-one memory card reader on board.

Other features are 1.3-megapixel webcam, Nvidia GeForce 8400GM chip with 128MB of video memory, HDMI port and Gigabit Ethernet, and Bluetooth is optional. You can choose between 802.11a/b/g or 802.11n Wi-Fi.

The GPS system relies on NXP Software's swGPS system for navigation work. GPS will not only help finding locations but is also expected to be your James Bond, and help you in finding the stolen machine. GPS in laptop is not affordable, and the machine is going to cost you approx. $3243 and is schedule to hit the shelves later this month.
