Xerox machines---it has been ages since I made dozen copies of a single article for distribution among friends. Now for me, the printer does all the carbon copy prints, but there are still lots of organizations---both big and small--that still rely on the traditional photo copy machine. And “Fuji Xerox” introduces a new Xerox machine with translation advantage. It not only dishes out copies for you, but also supports English, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. You may be wondering---for what?
At the time of scanning, this machine automatically differentiates diagrams from text then translates the text, by maintaining the original layout. The machine "networks the unnamed copier to a dedicated translation server and combines it with algorithms that can distinguish between text, drawings and lines and maintains the original layout." So you can get English text photo copy in Japanese or Chinese without disturbing the original layout. It can also work in reverse translating Chinese, Japanese or Korean to English.
The machine is a real ace, but sadly it is still in its prototype phase, and it is going to take some time, before we get to hear if the translation was perfect.
