Another day, another spilling the beans, and another high-end digital SLR Camera, though this time, it is Sony’s new high-end model -- Alpha digital SLR series -- the DSLR-A700. While the O baby’s high-end SLR digi-cam specs were still shrouded in mystery, we know quite a lot about Sony’s impressive offering. The 1.24 mega-pixels camera comes with normal ISO sensitivity up to 3200. However, it is equipped with a special expand mode to increase ISO up to 6400, in low light.
According to Sony, the previews on the LCD are better than any camera in the class with a 3-inch, 921,000-pixel display that gets closer to the actual image. The camera also features CompactFlash and Memory Stick slots (giving users the option to either use one of them, without impeding either slot.)
This lightweight -- magnesium alloy body -- is resistant to dust and moisture (every camera boasts of that). It also incorporates Super SteadyShot® Inside image stabilization in the camera body and is compatible with most Minolta Maxxum® mount lenses in addition to Sony lenses. Other features are 11-point autofocus system, maximum shutter speed of 1/8,000th of a second, and HDMI output.
There is no information about its price tag and when will it ship, but I do not think it will take long before it hits the shelves. Till then enjoy the pictures of the camera.
