If you are kind of bored typing on the conventional 104-key QWERTY keyboard, there is now an alternative in the market -- “NSK535 series of alphanumeric” keyboard. If you look closely at the keyboard’s picture, you will notice that the keys are arranged differently from the one you use now. This fully functional -- and compatible with MS Vista and Linux -- keyboard is available in two versions and has rainbow of color-coded 53 keys.
NSK535 is 12.5″ x 5″ x 1″, 12.5×5x1-inch thick, and is quite easy to learn and efficient for high speed touch-typing. It has a price tag of $59.98. Until and unless I do not try, I cannot comment on how fast and good it types. My fingers are quite used to my standard keyboard keys and know their positions very well, without me having to look at them, while typing.
But, why not give the new design a try, the 53 keys might be more productive than the 104 keys QWERTY model, and a new experience is always a good thing, as someone said, habit is a big deadener.
