Well, Porsche is on right track. World is coming to India, the largest growing economy in the world, to make killings. Porsche marque could also get its fair share by opening up an assembling unit in India, as it is going strength to strength with each passing day. The growing Indian economy had earlier attracted manufacturers including Suzuki Motor, Hyundai Motor and Honda Motor. Learning from success of these automakers, V W and Renault have also decided to set up their plants in India. And now Porsche is in queue to woo Indian youths. By assembling imported knocked-down kits in India, the stable can manage to put down the prices of the sedan substantially, as it would not have as much import duty as it costs to import a whole car. So, that will definitely benefit the company.
Assembling cars in India, the company can also tap the surrounding nations besides India. Well this plan of Porsche would definitely yield results, for Indian youths are becoming rich overnights. In just last two years period there is 37 percent rise in the number of millionaires in India, which has spurred luxury car sales. So, Porsche could also make money in India. But what I think that the giant should have to carryout research about likes and dislikes of Indian consumers before initiating any step. As it would help the stable to offer the consumers the sedan they like. Besides, the sedans should have capacity to adapt to the Indian conditions.
