I am quite conventional when it comes to reading a book -- like to hit my lair (bed) with one -- and e-books are not my cup of tea. However, one cannot ignore the contemporary ways of reading a book, and this new reading gadget caught my attention -- Sony’s Portable Reader – “PRS-500”. It made a fleeting appearance on Abt Electronics site (the page has been removed now). Sony style is still to officially display the much slimmer (than the old model), double storage capacity, and USB 2.0 equipped model.

However, the picture gives you a good idea about the looks and how the buttons are arranged. It is available in both silver and blue/black shell and is slated to have a price tag of $299. My guess is, e-book readers will like this latest from Sony and it looks like a decent bookish reader.
