Which was fine except for the small fact that the driver in this case has never in his life set foot on Australian territory. In which case being handed a fine for driving 10 kmph over the speed limit sounds a bit too harsh. Indeed the owner of the speeding vehicle, Kathryn Julia Fluin, signed a statutory declaration declaring the Englishman was driving the car at the time of the offence.

Mr. Smart (the British citizen) was advised to contest the charges levelled by the Australian police and after verifying that he indeed has never been to Australia, the Australian police is now looking for Miss Fluin.

She shall now be charged for making a false statutory declaration, punishable by a maximum of 4 years in jail. Perhaps she thought that the Australian police would not bother sending the ticket across all the way to the UK. Paying the fine now sounds like a better option, but being the smart ass that she is; Miss Fluin is likely to abscond.

Mr. Smart has no inkling as to how she managed to get his full name and address (correct in every detail) and as to why she gave it to the police ; there were no old scores to settle either since they do not know each other.

The accompanying image which has nothing to do with Miss Fluin seems to show the state of mind of Miss Fluin in going to such lengths.
