Ergodex DX1: Gamers to create their own keyboards

Tired of QWERTY keyboards? Think you could do better with a system that could follow some sort of logic rather than the seemingly random arrangement of keys that has traditionally been more than diffcult to get used to? Well here is your one chance to fame. Get this DIY kit and create your own keyboard. You simply put the keys where they make more sense according to you. You then tell the keyboard what its supposed to do when that key is pressed.

Called as the DX1, it is according to me the first such keyboard which attempts to break away from tradition. I am not referring to the Art Lebedev keyboard because it uses completely different technology (a LCD in each key) and thus is not in the same league.

Ergodex DX1 Input System Includes: a Pad, a removable Tray, 25 numbered Keys with a storage tray, preprinted key labels, an installation CD, and a Quick Start Guide.

Somehow the number of keys - 25 seems too few to make a serious impact. Well, its a start, perhaps you could convince the Thinkgeek guys that your idea has merit and they could give you a larger tray with more keys.

For now, the Ergodex DX1 is meant for the serious gamers who dont like the traditional layout while playing some competition intensive games where every milli second counts. In such a case, the DX1 would give them a clear edge over others.

US English Keyboard
Mouse
