Hybrids are fine, but they still do rely on oil. Thats why the perfect solution would be a car that runs completely on renewable sources of energy. While one example would be Tatas Air car, another would be the Lightning GT which runs completely on electricity. This baby also lays to rest the myth that such cars are underpowered.

Built with a racing sports car in mind, the lines exude speed , confideness and a machoism which greenies have often complained are missing in such cars. The Lightning GT is not afraid of running on electricity and is more than happy to take on its petrol / diesel counterparts.
The electric Lightning GT and Sports versions are now available to pre-order and deposits
of £15,000 are being accepted. Designed to accommodate the latest battery and motor technology and reflect its 100% electric power and performance, the electric Lightning prototype is being hand-built by a small team of passionate British engineers, designers and collaborators. Lets really hope that this one moves on from being just a concept to production. And also pray meanwhile that the technology requirement of its engine (powerful electric one) happen in the meantime to make it a real possibility.
Otherwise we shall be stuck with those egg shaped baby vehicles which only nerds are proud to own forever in our lifetimes.
