Power saving Eco socket

A lot of electricity is lost during transmission. We wont be able to do anything about it until technology helps us to have some sort of superconductors or even better, wireless transmission of energy. But there is another place where we need to improve - its good for the planet and for our pockets and for once implementation costs absolutely nothing.

Its whats called as phantom power loss. Some also call it as Vampire power loss. This is because gadgets which are on standby , such as when you switch off your television with the remote control, still consume power. Similarly a computer on standby or a charger which is still connected to the socket but not charging any cell phone will still consume power.

Most of us dont even realise this, but the eco socket which changes color when power is being drawn from it will help us to learn. The LED can optionally be turned off but the pink color that it warms up to indicate power loss is kinda cute.

Save up by simply remembering to unplug or switch off and not just disconnecting things from chargers ; switching off by remote controls.
