Haptic, from the Greek αφή (Haphe), means pertaining to the sense of touch (Wiki). Having understood the name, you must also understand that Apple redefined touchscreen displays when they threw out the stylus (a compulsary requirement till then) and decided to create a phone controlled by finger touch control.

Everything that had touch screens from that point forward had to be in someway better than what Apple had created. The competitors such as Nokia and Samsung were for once at a loss. But they have come back, and with some truly beautiful technology at work.

The SCH-W420 and SPH-W4200 shall be the Haptic phones form Samsung. Both of which will come with a 3.23 inch touchscreen display, a 2 megapixel camera. stereo Bluetooth, a full Internet browser and DVB-T.

The handsets shall have 22 different kinds of vibrations built in and the handset shall respond to touch when you fiddle around with the controls such as increasing or decreasing the volume for instance. This gives a kind of tactile feedback on which you could rely upon - for example just feeling your way to mute the handset inside the bag in a meeting.
