Talk about two explosively popular things coming together and you wont find a better fit then the Nintendo Wii and the BBC iPlayer. The iPlayer has been an instant hit with the masses and BBC isnt letting the success go to its head either. They are keen on expanding the reach of their content using the popularity of the iPlayer.
BBC has just announced that they are working on a Nintendo Wii version of the iPlayer. An early version of the iPlayer software will pop up on Wii's Internet Channel literally today should you have your Wii plugged into the Matrix, with further software updates coming to make it work better during 2008.
In its first month, BBC reports that over 1 million viewers downloaded some 3.5 million program using the iPlayer.
