Clouds Consider Commercialisation

Now thats what I am talking about. Clouds which till date had justified their existence by providing shade and rain to mankind and the other more intelligent apecies found on the planet are now considering commercial advertising. A company is claiming to be able to create clouds in any shape that an advertiser can dream of.

The clouds are actually a mixture of soap-based foams and lighter-than-air gases such as helium. The company uses re-purposed artificial snow machines to generate the floating ads and messages, dubbed Flogos. The machines can pop one Flogo out every 15 seconds, flooding the air with foamy peace signs or whatever shape a client desires. Renting the machine for a day starts out at a cost of about $2,500.

However considering that the clouds are only about two feet long and a foot wide, they are not easy to see once they rise up into the sky. Depending on the conditions they can fly for upto an hour. Flogos are environmentally friendly as the soaps that make up the foamy shapes are derived from plants, and that eventually a Flogo just evaporates in the air.

Check out Flogo in action here.
