Asus really uncovered a major industry when they came up with the ingenious idea of a sub 500$ laptop computer. Its spurred production of so many clones and competitors are falling over themselves to make sure they too have something in the line-up to cater to a similiar consumer. The Datacask Jupiter from Fukato falls squarely in this league.

The Datacask Jupiter will be offered for a low price of $440 and feature a 500 MHz AMD Geode LX processor, 20GB 1.8-inch hard drive, 512MB of RAM, Linux OS, 3 hour battery time, Wi-Fi and a 3 year warranty package. The Fukato Datacask Jupiter will be available in the German market sometime in May.
