A Ricoh was what my grandfather got me as my first camera. This was the era prior to digital cameras being the norm and it handled beautifully. Ricoh has always managed to produce excellent cameras and the G600 should be a lovely one as well. Ricoh claims that the G600 is a rugged camera and can take its fair share of dust and water without any trouble.

It is a 10 megapixel, 5x optical zoom, with wide-angle focal point camera. You can shoot up to 1 meter underwater and drop it onto 26 different surfaces from a height of 1.5 meters. So I guess Ricoh expects us to be careful if the surface is anyone not listed on the 26 that are already mentioned.

Features include a a 2.7-inch display, shooting VGA video at 30fps, flash with a ten-meter range, support for SD/SDHC memory cards of up to 8GB. The G600 can also take AAA-batteries in case its lithium-ion runs out.
