Another ULPC - these sure are flying out of the manufacturers - with good reason too, sales of this particular segment are expected to hit all time highs in this year. Whats really unfortunate is that when they are announced, the makers promise us one price and by the time they reach the stores, the prices have nearly doubled. I understand its important to keep quality concerns going especially in low cost computers, but surely this could be worked upon?
Asus eeePC is a case in point with the price nearly doubling from annoucement to sales. The RazorBook 400 offers a 7-inch display, 4GB SSD, 512MB RAM, built-in card reader, Wi-Fi and runs Linux, but the processor is a lowly 400MHz. The last time I used a computer so underpowered, the year was 1997 or earlier and trust me, there wasnt much besides the basic book keeping and Prince of Persia 1 / 2 playing that I managed to do with that machine.
Despite being underpowered as compared to the eeePC, the price of the Razorbook 400 is the same as that of Asus offerings.
