I was just thinking of some gadget along these lines when I came across the wireless outdoor speakers from Gadgetshop. In my case with a barbeque being hosted at my place on this weekend, I was just making sure that everything had been accounted for. Its then that I realised that it would be fun to have some sort of music in the background.

Music would mean speakers and speakers would mean wires. With more than 1 round of drinks to be passed around since we are celebrating a couple of birthdays, it would be best if there were no wires to trip over.
