Ok, so I totally made up that last bit. But the first half is true. Dance floors in the UK are soon going to be generating enough power to power up the disco lights so necessary for dancing. Using a piezoelectric system (for those who failed high school science / physics : its basically the way of generating power by use of mechanical force) ; this system utilises the different grooves and thumps of the enthusiastic dancers into something useful - power.

I bet this is one instance where the obese guys are more likely to be preferred by the dance club executives. After all isnt F=ma ? Sorry, but the whole piezo-electric thing has just sent me into a physics flashback of high school.
