I have no idea where Sony got their boss from, but if anything it proves my hypothesis about alternative universes (The same one which was so strongly opposed by my high school science teacher despite my several claims). After all, in this universe or timeline or whatever it is that you call it, the Nintendo Wii is the cheapest of consoles and in my opinion offers the best gameplay.

Ok, its not for serious video gamers but then that was never the idea behind the Wii in the first place.

However nothing else can explain why Sonys boss , Howard Stringer who understandably is a big fan of the PS3 thinks that the Wii is a expensive niche game device and not a video game . He goes on to explain why a PS3 makes more sense as a gaming machine since it bundles up as a Blu-Ray player.

IMHO, I could easily go out and get myself a Blu-Ray player if I wanted one - a video game console is selected only on the basis of how good the titles on it are and how much fun it is to play ; nothing else.
