Swing Speakers: Find the hidden voice of your iPod

Posted by Funkyguy on July 25, 2008 3:33 PM

Somewhere along the way the distinction between music players and phones merged. So much so that Apple had to jump into the phone business just to safeguard what it thought is its god given right in the MP3 player business. While the lucky few who got a iPhone also got a iPod which could play out loud whenever and wherever they wanted ; the iPods continued to suffer in silence.

Even the odd speaker and dock that came along the way did not really represent the hidden voice of the iPods.

Until now that is. The swing speakers easily look and feel like they were created along with the iPods themselves. The speakers are a battery powered add-on for the iPods Nano and Classic along with the Touch. And unlike those variosuly shaped speakers which pride themselves on their looks instead of performance, these actually put your money where your ears are - in the sound of things.

These have just been released in Korea for $29 (Nano), $32 (Classic) and $36 (Touch).
