After more than weeks of launch, the Apple iPhone 3G is still not easily available. You still need to queue up for it , hours at a time; something unheard of in a capitalistic society. After all, you are paying the full asking amount - the iPhone is anything but alms given out in charity.

Thankfully, Apple knows when not to push a good thing too much and has decided that in order to not annoy its customers too much, all Apple stores shall open 2 hours early everyday (from 8 a.m. onwards).
Apple is also allowing those who have been waiting in queue to be pre-qualified and set their handset aside allowing them to pick it up later when its more convenient to do so. However its still required to be collected by the end of the business day.
