A few days back my Finance lecturer was lecturing us (as only lecturers can) - I really dont recall much of it until she reached the point where she said that a million dollars werent that much any more. And thats when I did start paying attention. What she went on to say was that a million dollars may sound like much but with inflation and price rises , the million of yester-years no longer commanded the same amount of respect as it did. Indeed a million before was as much as a billion today.
In fact if we added up our net worths including the price of our homes, cars and all other things combined ; most of us would fall in the millionaire bracket. It all sounded perfectly sane but a millionaire according to me has always been a person who can splurge a million dollars on something just because he wants to ; I really dont care much about what net worths may say. On another note, that may explain my low grades in Finance .
