After a 7 year long dry spell, the rains are finally in sight for a parched Entertainment division of Microsoft. Its how long it took them to finally turn the Xbox 360 into a profitable venture. Most concepts or ideas dont even have the leisure of lasting out a year of venture funding before they are thrown out for not being profitable. Guess having deep pockets means you can keep throwing money at a problem until it finally takes care of itself.

The division posted a $426 million operating profit for the year, up from a $1.97 billion loss the previous year. Of course, that means that the Xbox, first introduced in October 2001, is billions and billions in the red, over all. But it's something.
