PSP and NDS get a new competitor

while competition is always welcome in a perfect market; the Wiz is unlikely to create waves. For the simple reason that the company behind it (a Korean one called as GPH) doesnt seem to have understood that its the games which make the console and not the other way around.

Unlike the Nintendo DS and the Sony PSP which pride themselves on having a spectacular line-up of games ; the Wiz is expecting developers to do the game making for them. Unfortunately, unlike Apple which promises developers a chance to get their goods across to millions of consumers - the Wiz is going to be in a Catch 22 situation.

Developers wont create games until they are assured of the products success. And consumers wont buy a console until they are assured of some quality games.

The Wiz is based on the Linux OS and has a 533 Mhz processor with a 3D accelerator. It promises to have emulators loaded, flash playing ability, music and video features as well as a photo viewer and e-book reading capability.
