Sony Playstation 3 Wireless Keyboard

Posted by Funkyguy on August 26, 2008 3:35 PM

The Playstation 3 wireless keypad is supposedly going to make typing easier without needing to use the onscreen keyboard - which was very time consuming. Of course in situations like installing Linux onto the system , a physical keyboard and mouse are an absolute necessity. Not to mention it being useful if you use it to surf the net.

The new accessory will fit precisely into the top of the Dual Shock 3, giving players a miniature QWERTY keyboard which they can use instead of the systems on-screen keyboard. A unique feature to the keypad is a touch pad button, which allows players to use the entire surface of the keypad as a touchpad.

This feature will be primarily used for controlling the on-screen pointer while web browsing. The keypad also includes several shortcut keys and operates over Bluetooth, just like all Playstation 3 controllers.

I must say the one from Madcatz looks much better, but I wonder how much, if any , the performance differs considering that this is from Sony itself.
