Toilet Flush Power

Posted by Funkyguy on August 12, 2008 4:04 PM

While I am as much of a green geek as I could be, there are some strategies to saving or generating power out there that really take the - um- turd. Called as the Benkatine Turbine, its kinda like a mini hydro-electric plant in your bathroom or flush. It can actually be used in any pipe that feeds water to generate power.

Benkatina was designed to generate electricity under conditions that were previously uneconomic, and to be integrated into any existing or planned downhill flow system including fresh water, waste water, industrial output, gutters, etc. The Benkatina comes in different sizes, providing different power output of various ranges.

Considering that flushing the toilet with the amount of water that you do to get rid of those turds obviously means theres a lot of potential to install the Benkatina there. Of course I have no clue as to how the system copes with the copious number of turds that go its way. I was as yet of the opinion that the only way power could be generated out of our nether regions was by hooking us up to something that could store our farts and ignite them.

Btw, this pooptricity is real and not a joke. Hit the company for a visit if you dont believe me.
