Virii conquer Space - The Final Frontier

Posted by Funkyguy on August 31, 2008 3:43 PM

The arch nemesis of computers, Virii (or viruses if that makes you feel better) have just conquered space , thanks to NASA. A worm type of virus as described by NASA managed to sneak onto the International Space Station thanks to email messages that are exchanged with earth by astronauts. The virus is reported to be malicious software that logs keystrokes in order to steal passwords or other sensitive data by sending the information to hackers via the Internet.

However these computers are not connected to the space stations control systems and were dubbed more of a nuisance than a threat. NASA also claimed that this wasnt the first time that a virus had made it into space , its not a frequent occurence but it has happened before. Unfortunately for the worm, its space sojourn was cut short when it got detected and quarantined by an antivirus update.
