Thats the word on the street and not just my opinion. The latest firmware (2.1) for the iPhone 3G isnt just cosmetic makeup as a lot of people would have you believe, but its the real thing. Gizmodo has created a checklist which includes most of the problems faced by iPhone users since its 3G debut. Except for the 3G browsing speed , which was a secondary problem in my opinion anyway ; the rest of the checklist which includes the extremely annoying keyboard lag, reception of the phone, call drops, battery life , all register spectacular wins.

It even fixes those stupid eternity taking backup times. Gizmodo rates this as a must upgrade for 3G iPhone owners and so do we.
