Asus is driving prices right where we like them, downwards. The Asus Eee PC 901 is now going to cost just 500$ USD - no strings attached. Its a decent notebook with a 8.9 inch display 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 12GB SSD and a 6-cell battery. Of course it doesnt come close to the Chinese laptop which runs on Linux and retails for just 100$ but then that one doesnt have the Asus branding either.
