If the current inflow of smart phones continues, they are certain to make the standard cell phones history. We have had some exciting launches this year, most notable amongst which are of course the Google Android based HTC G1 and the iPhone 3G. The Blackberry Storm , about which I have mentioned time and again is also something that promises to push RIM into the heat of the competition.

The Storm is to be the first touchscreen handset from Blackberry and has high expectations. If the Bold blew you away, the storm is going to rocket you straight into orbit - its expected to be that good.
Features include :
* 3.2 megapixel camera
* 360?80 touchscreen
* Virtual keypad with haptic feedback
* 3G (both CDMA and GSM varieties will be available)
While the dates for the US release havent been announced - the English will be revelling in a stormy Xmas for sure with the release date fixed at the end of October. The brits will get their Blackberry fix courtesy of Vodafone whereas the Yanks are going to do it in Verizon style. Given the dates of the UK, its not unlikely that the Storm could be the surprise offering just before Christmas for the US.
