Saving the planet seems to have totally taken off as a concept. Every company worth its name is trying to show off how they are cutting corners all in the name of saving the planet. But as I always say, every little bit helps.
Take the case of this SIM card which embeds a mini-DVD into it . Of course its good enough only for about 50 MB but its more than enough to get the necessary drivers across.
The cards are supplied by Gemalto, and will be used by Wind to allow wireless Internet access from a PC. The idea is that subs use the SIM in their phone, connect their device to their PC, and then insert the card to run up the software on it. The software installs the necessary drivers, and user guides on the disc make life simpler for the end-user.
