Posted by Funkyguy on September 18, 2008 2:12 PM

We expected nothing less from Google. Their partnership with HTC has resulted in the creation of a device called as Dream. This will be the first handset to be working on Googles new Android software. Its going to cost just 199$ - the swipe obviously being aimed at Apple with their low pricing for the iPhone 3G. Details of the handset shall eb released upon launch next week.

However the HTC Dream, which has been seen by developers is said to be good functionally, but unattractive in terms of looks. The Dream is said to resemble an iPhone with a screen that responds to gentle touches and taps, but it is bigger and clunkier, with a hidden keyboard.

Google is allowing hardware makers to use the Android system for free. They aim to make profits from mobile advertising once more sophisticaed devices are released.
