Nokia replies to the Apple App Store

Posted by Funkyguy on September 8, 2008 3:13 PM

Noone has been cutting Nokia any slack ever since the Apple iPhone came out. Anything that the Cupertico company does is right, whereas Nokia has got it all wrong if fans and critics are to be believed. Well, its not without reason that Nokia has been ruling the roost when it comes to being the leader of the market. And its not about to give up without a fight.

Nokia has decided to take a different approach to reply to Apples App store. Its not going to do the same thing ; and as for apps - Symbian S60 phones such as the classic 6600 had tons of those. But its going to concetrate on another of Apples key strengths - music. Nokias Music store is going to be the key to winning back customers. Handsets such as the 5310 will enjoy a year of free downloads upon purchase.

A user can retain all of their downloaded tracks even once their subscription has ended, although the music disappears if they upgrade to a new device. the service is going to be called Comes with Music and more details will be available on October 2.
